Planning ahead is critical for success. If you “fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
The last week of the year is often slower for people at work, it is a great time to organize your mind!
- VISION. If you think of yourself at this time next year. What would you like to have done? What would you like to be different? What is the most important that you accomplish this year?
- GOALS. Take those answers and formulate them into 2 SMART goals. Write your goal as if it were accomplished. Be specific (with numbers) about what you will do, make sure it will challenge you yet be realistic, and have a completion date. Write this goal daily. (Really! if you do this your goal is more likely to happen – try and prove me wrong!)
- PLAN. From your MAIN goal, break it down into 3-4 sub-goals. This will give you milestones to shoot for that are not as overwhelming and hold a sharper focus. Make sure to put reminders at the sub-goal check-in times (set in Outlook, a reminder software, or send yourself an e-card with the date set accordingly.)
