We are in a time of ongoing change. This can trigger us (remember SCARF) as we feel a level of uncertainty about what is known and expected. Uncertainty can stop us in our tracks. It can cause insecurity and stress. When we get triggered, it can contribute to feeling more emotionally vulnerable.
- We can freeze and struggle to stay present with daily tasks, unable to make decisions, act and get things done.
- We can fight and push back on what we don’t like, get upset or angry, challenge what is changing, and fight for what we know and is safe.
- We can run away (flight) by checking out, disappearing, not responding, and just going silent, as we wait for this to go away and return to normal.
These things can all be very detrimental to our well-being personally and professionally.
Looking for a way to break free from that? Some help is found in our mindset.
